Press release via Xerox

CHICAGO, Oct. 6, 2010 – Xerox Corporation’s (NYSE: XRX) new iGen4® EXP, with its larger sheet size, has quickly garnered the attention of print service providers who are making investments in the new technology. Customers cite the larger sheet capacity – which delivers up to 50 percent more high-quality impressions per page – as the key factor in their purchases.

In addition to the expanded 14.33" x 26" output – the largest available on a cut-sheet device – users can also take advantage of the iGen4’s Automated Web to Finish solution, which makes touchless workflow achievable from ordering to the end product.

Customers expect an immediate productivity boost and are primed to produce more customized postcards, sales collateral, especially six-panel brochures, and cross-media direct-marketing campaigns.

Print service providers to purchase the iGen4 EXP include:

  • Kelmscott Communications – The nearly 75-year-old company has successfully transitioned from printer to communications provider by creating personalized cross-media campaigns for clients in the higher education and gaming industries, associations and non-profits.
Its efforts combine digital outreach, including social media components, with high-quality print coming from its Xerox digital systems. The iGen4 EXP will drive new applications such as six-to-twelve-page college recruitment booklets with minimal finishing. The combination of tailored print with digital media elements helps reach the student who may be drawn to a custom web site and parents who are more comfortable with a dynamic printed piece.
  • Madden Communications – Based upon their retail marketing focus, Madden Communications will use the iGen4 EXP to produce locally relevant promotional materials for some of the world’s best known brands. Full-color, variable point-of-sale pieces help attract consumer attention, and the precise color matching of the iGen4 EXP press protects brand integrity.

Madden often controls entire promotional campaigns for its clients, from supply-chain management through production and fulfillment. The trademark reliability of the iGen4 portfolio will help the company meet quick-turnaround demands without compromising quality.

  • QuantumDigital –The direct marketing service provider will add two iGen4 EXP presses and anticipates production will reach between one and two million impressions per month on each system.

Among the company’s hallmark products are customized postcards, which are driven through a highly automated Web-to-print system in runs of fewer than 100 pieces. The 26-inch feature allows QuantumDigital to print more postcards on each sheet of paper, which will help to offset operating costs. QuantumDigital’s clients include Hallmark Cards, John Deere and Michelin.
