AUSTIN, Texas - March 3, 2009 - QuantumDigital, the complete online service provider for direct mail, on-demand digital printing and eMarketing solutions, hosted the second "Managing the Marketing Mix" webinar designed specifically for Real Estate Professionals. Over 450 real estate professionals registered.
During the session, Eric Cosway, EVP and CMO, and Freddie Baird, EVP and COO, discussed results from QuantumDigital's survey that was conducted last year. The purpose of the survey was to understand how agents are spending their marketing dollars; how much they are spending; how their marketing mix is structured; and what online and offline channels they are using to communicate with prospective clients, existing clients and other agents.
The top three themes from the session included:
- Direct mail, email and online marketing are the de facto marketing channels for real estate professionals.
- On average, agents/brokers typically spend 10% of their gross commissionable income (GCI) per year on marketing - 4% on direct mail, 6% on online/web/email.
- Sphere of Influence is still the # 1 way to get new business.
Another key topic was the use of social networks in real estate. LinkedIn was highlighted as an example for agents to build their sphere of influence. "LinkedIn allows you to present yourself as a business expert to your online network," shared Cosway. "This builds your credibility and respect, and will lead to future business. There are numerous groups on LinkedIn discussing real estate and real estate investing topics. Focus on appraisers, mortgage brokers, bankers, home inspectors, attorneys, title companies and contractors."
Cosway and Baird also discussed that agents should use social networks as a way to capture referrals from past satisfied clients. Registered attendees shared they would like to see future webinar topics on using email marketing, direct mail design best practices, direct mail tutorials, and how to reach different market segments using demographics.
